Katya

Quick shot from my shoot yesterday with model Katya. I've worked with Katya a couple times now and each time has been a pleasure.

I'll add more images from this shoot in a few days.

Xlcr Moon

We've now been published a few times, thanks in large part to X.  Here are a couple shots from our most recent shoot.

Lupita Nyong'o at the 7th annual Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon

I've not seen the movie (12 Years a Slave), I really want to but I'm worried about the discomfort I'll have with it's content.  That aside from the moment I saw this young lady the first words from my mouth was that she is stunning.  Now that I've seen her give a few speeches and on a few talk shows I'm getting a glimpse of who she is and what she's about.  As a result she's even more stunning to me.  Lupita is one gorgeous young lady and I'm looking forward to seeing her career blossom even more in whatever she does.  This is a speech she gave at the 7th annual Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon the days before the Academy Awards (Oscars).

August 2013 Glamour / Fashion Model Shoots

Well the month isn't over yet but I'm pretty sure I won't have any other shoots before the end of the month.  Below are some shots from August 2013.

Friday's Dance Recital - Rhythm and Dance Studios

What a absolutely lovely show.  I was one of many very proud parents cheering on our children in Friday's show.  Here are a few shots from Friday night's recital.

Walk around camera (micro 4/3 camera)

I'm seeing more reasons to consider a micro 4/3rds camera.  In this article (Review by Phoblographer) and this 11 minute Fuji commercial with Zack Arias of the Fuji X-Pro1 it's becoming more apparent that these cameras have improved to a point of pro-level usefulness. I don't own one yet but I am considering one as a walk around camera.

UPDATE (5/10/2013):

Adding a few more resources:

David Hobby's review of the Fuji x100s

Ken Rockwell's review of the Fuji x100s..

Frederick Van Johnson's podcast where he does a pretty extensive review/investigation of the micro 4/3's format.

I was most impressed with the images on the Phoblographer site of the Fuji X Pro 1 outfitted with the SLR magic 23mm F/1.7 lens.  The depth of field was pretty impressive.

Busy, busy, busy...

We have a new website and blog!  The new website and recent travel, three times to Chicago in the last month, have kept me away from shooting.

I haven't picked up my camera in over a month and for me, that is a extremely long time.  The last set of photos I've taken was in Washington, DC. for the Cherry Blossom Festival and my last model shoot was on April 2nd with Hollis.  So it has been over two months since my last real shoot.  Needless to say I am very much looking forward to getting out and shooting something...  Anything!

Next week I'll be traveling to San Francisco for Google I/O.  I'm looking forward to this conference and the opportunities to shoot in Northern California.  Hopefully I'll have time to do more blogging. after this trip.

My exciting news to share is that I'll have a new studio starting June 1st so I'll definitely be shooting much more after that date.

Andrea and Jamel

This was by far the best wedding I've attended and I was honored and privileged to be the photographer for the Jackson's wedding last October.

Cherry Blossom's and more

Here are a few photos from my recent trip to Washington DC for the Cherry Blossom Festival.  This trip was cut short due to family illness so I did not get a chance to hit all the attractions I intended to capture so another trip to DC will have to eventually made, it's a beautiful city in the spring.
